INTRODUCTION
We started livin art: Functional art installations that balances
form and function, craft and design, a range of Home furniture made in organic shapes, fashioned from refurbished Teak Wood and vividly painted/printed with our exclusive designs.
Design philosophy: NO isms.. We want to make memorable pieces of furniture that become special to people who own it. Mumbai is too grey.We need a ‘color riot’.
ABOUT SHOP OWNER
Textile designer Shalini Dhawan and documentary filmmaker Jaya Peter, launched Livin Art - Functional art installations that balances form and function, craft and design. Home furniture made in organic shapes, fashioned from reclaimed teak wood and vividly painted/printed.
“Every project is handmade or specially commissioned. We rarely buy off the shelf.â€
Peter, having worked on film sets, has the ability to visualise the larger picture. Dhawan, her partner at Livin Art can solve every puzzle of tile or textile, allowing for the group’s intricate creations on floors and walls. Tandon, meanwhile, has a strong sense of space.
