INTRODUCTION
Smriti Gupta’s love for textiles & travel has led her to the remote areas of India in search of design inspiration. Her training at India’s premier design institute, National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad further facilitates her creation of high quality, timeless classics be it saris or garments. Smriti enjoys working with the ‘imperfections’ of handwoven textiles. Much of her inspiration in the current collection, evoking memories of another era, is drawn from the Mughal ‘butta’ design on luxurious silks, airy Chanderis & soft cottons. The nimble fingers of her highly trained artisans produce embroideries, weaves & hand block prints in bold & vivid colours to cater to the eye of today’s discerning woman.

Smriti is a brand of contemporary Indian handwoven
textiles crafted using traditional techniques.
Smriti’s designs are born out of a desire to rethink Indian fashion in a current context. Her colours and
designs are rooted in Indian philosophy and tradition, giving freedom to imagine a new platform for both.
Smriti’s aesthetic and philosophy has begun to revitalize an entire community with new life for a traditional form -- the sari. Handloom sarees, though still worn by a large number of women in India, are perceived to have little scope for new explorations. Smriti is evolving a new
aesthetic that is indigenous as well as modern. She adapts from traditional designs to create
handwoven textiles that are simple, sophisticated, and distinctly contemporary.
Smriti’s Sarees can be seen at high end stores, a few
exhibitions and design studio by appointment at Noida.
