INTRODUCTION

Soham
I am That
I am the clay, I am the creator
I am the pot, I am the potter
I AM……

Clay has a silent strength, a being….An ability to hold in its form a wordless expression of the artists thoughts.It is malleable, soft and yielding and at the same time possesses within the strength to withstand the greatest forces of nature.
Its very nature fascinates me.
Its silent strength is my inspiration.

			 								Hi, I am Shweta Mansingka , a ceramic artist working from my studio in New Delhi.
Am extremely grateful to have learnt sculpture and pottery under the able guidance of the skilled masters Shri Ram Kumar Manna and Shri Devi Prashad.
Clay has been a blessed passion, and friend since I started working with it in 1989.

Recently been fascinating with the process involved in making saggar fired and naked raku works.
Each piece is formed and handcrafted individually. It goes through many stages, some patient and gentle, some thermal shocks and jolts on its journey to reach its final stage. There are stages when it's very impressionable, even the touch of our bare fingers will leave its mark on it, and stages when it's fired strong to withstand heat and flames.

Lovingly cajoled into shape, worked on diligently to remove impurities and external imprints, polished to bring out its inherent shine and ready to face the challenge when fire and smoke combine to leave cracks and traces on the clays polished bare skin.
It's story resonates deeply with our own passage of life.
Hence each piece lives through its own journey and is completely unique;
Just like us.
