Style Trends That Rocked Us In 2017 – Jewellery & Accessories

As the year draws to an end and we continue on the inevitable transition into a brand New Year, we decided to slow down amidst the whirlwind of party prep, pressure of year-end deadlines, holiday plans – and look back on what defined our style in the year 2017.

An abundance of choice and creativity at all possible price points had us picking up pieces that caught our eye more often than not. Enabling a style that was distinct and personal. It may have been less of bling but there was no holding back on the quantity ! And it was these statement pieces that gave us a lot of mileage and wear – every single day.

In terms of specifics, the look for 2017 was all about layered statement necklaces that ensured that over-the-top was also classy and stylish.

Statement ‘chandbaalis’ were a style staple with traditional outfits, crafted in kundan and glass work in rainbow hues, mixed with coloured gems and pearls using gold and silver accents. Also standing out – when occasionally teamed with Western formals by adventurous souls.

Moving away from the stacked rings trend – bold, beautiful cocktail rings ruled our style and our hearts with their in-your-face appeal.

And then a heady mix of jewellery inspired by tribal designs, traditional motifs and Indian mythology created some delightfully unusual statement pieces that told a story and set the style walks ablaze.

Completing the look was style in the form of trendy loafers and brogues paired with Western outfits and stylishly colourful takes on the traditional “ jutti, ” that one paired up with ethnics, dresses, jeans and more.

Options were many and varied – in all possible colours, textures, patterns, in shiny gold and silver with the use of handwoven fabric, embroidery, embellishments, trims – enabling us to max out on our style.
We also loved flaunting hand-embroidered clutches embellished with gold and silver work, sequins and multi-coloured stone work on festive occasions.

At work – hobo bags and back-packs kept pace with our hectic days and nights.

We’ve had a great time riding the style roller-coaster with our artistic designers and you all ! And we’re excited about making a splash while ringing in the New Year with our haul of riches !

See you in 2018 with more style goodies !
