Changing Lives – One Piece of Scrap at a Time

This is the story of an artisans’ business started by our seller partner Bhavini N. Parikh along with her husband, after working in the textile industry for almost 29 years. During this time – she saw a lot of fabric getting wasted during production – and felt that this could be the genesis of a new venture.

And so the brand Bunko Junko was born. It is based on the principle of sustainable fashion and of recycling fabric scraps into unique and stylish products.

It’s also heartening to see that Bhavini has trained more than 3,000 underprivileged women from surrounding areas in stitching and tailoring. “We guide women from rural areas to do basic stitches and basic tailoring on the basis of which they can pursue employment”  – says Bhavini Parikh.

The women artisans have since become financially independent and are now powering Bunko Junko to become a brand with a difference.
