Indigo chanderi saree having shibori tie-n-dye
Chanderi is one of the famous handloom clusters in India, particularly known for its Sarees, made with a mix of silk and cotton
The Chanderi fabrics are known for their sheer texture, lightweight and a glossy transparency that sets them apart from textiles produced en masse in factories. Traditionally, the fabric was woven using very fine handspun yarn, which accounted for its delicate texture.
In this saree Shibori, a Japanese dyeing technique that typically involves folding, twisting or bunching cloth and binding it, then dyeing it in indigo has been done on chanderi saree.
