DESCRIPTION: Vintage cars are Dipto’s passion. Vintage cars are not a life less article to him but he considers these cars as separate entity that are epitomized & personified in varied situations and environment. Affection for vintage cars was to such an extent that he bought a vintage car in Kolkata in the year 1993. In his vintage car series a mysterious environment is common but different moods are pointed. Some of his cars are in peaceful presentation but in many of his presentations the cars are in destructive disposition coming out from the clutches of darkness & strongholds, which is very much comparable to human life & the ups-downs which one faces in life. This painting represents Dipto’s signature style popularly known as “Dipto’s technique†which is unique in the sense that he adds third dimension to two dimension by creating a relief on surface, like brick work. For all intents and purposes mixed media works represent his main line of art which lends him his signature and identity. Year:2010.
