About the painting: The five elements – Bhumi (Earth), Jal (Water), Agni (Fire), Pavan (Air) and Akash (Aether) are referred to as the pancha mahabhuta (five great elements) in the Vedas. These elements were paired to show opposing aspects of our being. Here Earth and Air are pit opposite each other, with life (red circle) creating a sense of unison between the two.
