INTRODUCTION

My journey as a visual artist began in Dehradun, where I spent most of my childhood. I was fascinated with nature, the grandeur and the mysteries surrounding it provided the initial desire for dabbling in various colour and methods conveying my emotions on a visual spectrum till this day. My art is an extension of my dreams, where colour and texture play a very prominent role, this play of colour and textures is akin a mediation, a visual mediation. After completing my college and a year of soul searching trekking in the Himalaya’s, against all reasoning at the time I moved to Delhi where I continued to paint and had my first exhibition for a charity group “Child Health and Welfare Foundation” living in a metropolitan provided me an insight into the mind set of the modern Indian audience, this propelled me to create a number of art pieces which were shaped using a multitude of different mediums, textures and theme’s on canvas which includes florescent paint and UV light. I brought forth the essence of emotions and interactions around me onto my canvas. With my intuitive instincts on strokes and shades I played with different colours using the drip and splash techniques mimicking the instantaneous changes in emotion felt on a daily bases in the city, letting the paint make its natural movement and path across the canvas after a single stroke of the brush felt like a stream of emotions let loose on a clear open sky.
