It all begun in the summer of 2013 when one of the co-founders brought a leather journal from Rajasthan. He got an overwhelming feedback from his friends and family who wanted the same journal. Unable to find it online or via any reliable trader in his hometown, he thought of doing something about the gap that existed between the artisans and the consumers. This gave birth to a basic idea of curating handicrafts and bringing them under one roof online. He shared this basic idea with his school friend Tushar (then working in Lava Mobiles, Noida), who found the concept to be deployable and ready to be evolved into a business model. These two friends, Abhineet Agarwal and Tushar Somani, then co-founded Pulpypapaya in November, 2013.
