The vivid colours of Rajasthan, and the clean elegant lines of Mediterranean ceramics are what inspires me to make my ceramic pieces. Pottery has become something of an obsession with me, especially so as this craft helped me to fill a void left after I retired from teaching. To create new glazes and experiment with them, I fall back on the knowledge gained from 25 years of teaching chemistry. Somehow , I still remain in awe of the fact that an elementary knowledge of chemistry can yield such wonderful visions. My pieces are what come closest to defining me and I like to morph their perfections and sharpen their imperfections, leaving a slice of my soul with every lump of clay I form into something new.
