The world as I see
There are moments in o¬ne's life for which the camera is not enough; they can be seen and captured o¬nly through your mind's eye. When I paint, my subjects are essentially as I see them through the lens of my heart's eyes.
Painting for the last 15 years, I have tried experimenting a lot with different forms and different mediums in my paintings. Whilst I went o¬n with my experiments, making new styles and forms, my subject always revolved around human beings. Mixing Impressionism and Surrealism my canvas produced subjects dealing with life and people.

About my paintings:
All my paintings have people wearing some headgear that has face painted o¬n them. This depicts the double-faced nature of people. Like we see in most profession where o¬ne wears uniform, like Police, nurse, army, pope etc; one wears headgear to go with it as well. To me it is the depiction of the fact that we always wear a face that is different from the real o¬ne we have. It is like a face we have to put up to suit the personality we want to project which is always different from the real o¬ne.

For the past 5 years, acrylic colour has been the main medium for my paintings. After doing the line drawing o¬n paper or canvas, a layer of acrylic is used like tempera o¬n it. Then slowly the subjects and people are given shape using more layers of colour. Since I use fast colour, it gives a definite brightness to the figures. My figures have a definite inspiration from Egyptian paintings, thus the figures are drawn in the same form, the cloths that they wear have long lines making them look taller and in a way Egyptian. Most of my paintings are of 42½X48½ size which takes about 100 hours.

My paintings in a way are people I live with. They give me inspiration to produce more, to experiment more and thus to create my own world with them. My world that I want the world to see.
