My name is Ritu Thapar. My passion for handcrafted things has led me on to this creative entrepreneurial path and that was the reason that I started Bona Dea. I was always very fond of jewellery from childhood. I graduated from college and got into the corporate world and worked for a couple of years . During a local fair I chanced upon some terracotta and glass bead jewellry and was mesmerized with their beauty. An opportunity to learn from a very good art teacher came my way, who mentored me for six months, and helped me pick up the nuances of the intricate art of terracotta jewellery and beading work. From here on, started off my entrepreneurial journey of handmade jewellery. I have taught this art to a number of artisans as a part of on-the-job training. The concept, raw material, the design development and sampling and the whole gamut of marketing is handled by me. My team of artisans are my strength and my company is the platform for them to display their artistic skills.
